Wednesday 13th May 2020 – an update from Chris Long, our MD & Founder.

Once again I would like to thank our staff, our clients and our suppliers for their support and patience throughout this period of temporary closure for the business.

Further to the announcements made by the Government in recent days and after checking with Governing Bodies in our industry it has now been confirmed that some of our operations can re-commence.

We are now starting to plan a gradual return to work, it is going to take some time for normal operations to completely return but some installations are now able to resume and other parts of the business will gradually get back to some form of normality.

Cleary the safety & well-being of all that we come into contact with is paramount and we are already putting in place all of the safety guidelines & PPE that will be required to keep our staff & all of our clients safe, I would ask that everyone continues to bear with us whilst we get the business up & running again & please rest assured we will do all we can to work through the backlog as quickly as is possible.

Our showrooms remain closed although we plan to set up a ‘By Appointment Only’ facility which will enable us to control for now footfall into our showrooms, our website will display the relevant safety precautions in place for both any installations we carry out or for any visits to our showrooms that are booked.

For New Enquiries:

Our sales team are set up remotely so that all new enquiries can be dealt with quickly & efficiently. We have full access to everything we need to prepare information and quotations. If you have any queries relating to a new enquiry please contact us via email: enquiries@sherbornewindows.co.uk .

Our Price Promise

We are pleased to announce that we have introduced a NEW scheme to ‘lock-in’ the prices provided on any new quotes and existing quotes over the last 6 months. These will also get a priority pass for any new orders that are processed when we can return to work. To take advantage of this scheme, please get in touch to place your order before 31st June 2020 with a nominal holding deposit.

We are very conscious of the fact that our lead times are going to extend due to the current situation and are recommending to anyone who wants work done as soon as is safe to do so, to take advantage of our NEW ‘lock-in’ scheme now.

For Emergencies:

Our team is still on hand to help deal with any emergencies. Please do contact us via our enquiries email address at enquiries@sherbornewindows.co.uk if you need help or advice relating to the work we do. We will do all we can to help anyone in need – providing it is safe to do so.

In the mean-time if there is anything we can help with please do contact us by email and most importantly please take care & stay safe.

With Kind Regards,

Chris Long

Wednesday 29th April 2020

Further to the message posted on our website on the 15th April 2020, I would like to issue a further update.

Once again I would like to thank our staff, our clients and our suppliers for their support and patience throughout this period of temporary closure for the business.

I hope you are all keeping safe & well whilst coping with the challenges that the lockdown is bringing to us all. A small team of staff & directors have been busy looking after various emergencies and keeping certain day to day issues/procedures dealt with and we are now starting to think about a safe & phased return to work.

There is no real clarity from Government just yet, BUT there are a lot of our suppliers now starting to return to work and I am expecting our supply chain to be pretty much operational within the next few weeks. In terms of when is it right for Sherborne to think about getting going again we must be very careful to not put any of our team, or customers in harm’s way, nor should we jeopardize all of the sacrifices made so far by so many.

With that in mind, we are aiming at some sort of phased return to work week commencing the 11th May. Although this could change depending on the stance of the Government, as above there are some staff who have continued to work through this lockdown period and for that I am very grateful, those staff know who you are & thank you for your support.

Our Installation Dept will start to liaise with clients and agree when it is right to resume work.

For now, I would ask that you all please continue to be patient as we plan our return to re-opening the business and bear with us as we make some very important decisions for us all.

Further to the message posted on our website on the 30th March 2020, I would like to issue a further update.

Once again I would like to thank our staff, our clients and our suppliers for their support and patience throughout this period of temporary closure for the business.

As the lockdown continues it is crucial we all follow the guidelines set out by the Government and although this is disrupting all of us, the simple fact is that by reducing contact with each other we will help the NHS and all those working tirelessly to support those most vulnerable in society.

At some point, we will be able to return to work and we will hit the ground running as soon as we are able to. We are in a fortunate position to have a very full order book and even now we are still seeing new enquiries coming via our website which our sales team are looking after remotely.

There continues to be no installation work being carried out at present, but with the incredible support from my fantastic team, we have dealt with any emergencies that have come up promptly & most importantly safely whilst respecting all social distancing rules.

Although our showrooms, warehouses & offices remain closed, Sherborne Windows is still very much open for business and we will respond to enquiries of any kind as quickly as is possible.

Monday 30th March 2020

Further to the message posted on our website on the 23rd March 2020, I would like to issue a further update.

Firstly, can I please say a big thank you to all our staff & clients who have been so supportive over the last week or so! It’s not an easy time for anyone but all of the messages of support & offers of assistance have been very gratefully received.  Thank you.

All Sherborne sites are now closed. All works have been suspended and any emergencies were addressed last week and are now fully complete. All of our staff have now been stood down and are safely at home looking after themselves & their families. Additionally, we have given permission to some of our staff to use their Sherborne vehicles should they need to in case of a personal emergency or for essential travel if they have no other way to travel. Therefore, if you do see a Sherborne vehicle on the roads it will be for this reason.

On a positive note, our order book is very full & we’ll have lots of work to get back to. If you have placed an order with us which has now been delayed due to the current circumstances, please be rest assured that a member of our team will be in contact directly to update you as soon as possible. If you would like any additional assistance, please contact us via the website contact form or via the email provided below. Like most businesses, we are awaiting some clarity from the UK Government as to when we can return to business as normal and as soon as we are advised we can return to work safely, we will be in touch.

Monday 23rd March 2020

Further to the recent statement from the Prime Minister we need to take measures to avoid any unnecessary movement of people and help us all avoid contact.

With this in mind we had already taken the decision to close all 3 of our showrooms and that happened at close of business on March 23rd 2020.

As of March 24th we are no longer carrying out installations for the time being. We understand how difficult this will be and how it may affect some of our clients, however as a business that has always tried to do the right thing we must protect our staff, clients & suppliers as well as the wider community we work in. Our management team will be in touch with you directly should this affect an order that you have placed with us.

Our enquiries team are working remotely and are on hand to answer any queries you may have. However, we will not book or carry out any installations until it is deemed safe to do so.

If you wish to book an installation for later in the year, we will honour any price given during consultation.

For any urgent communication with us please use our enquiries email address below which will be checked intermittently, I would respectfully ask everyone to be as understanding as possible throughout the temporary closure of our business.

enquiries@sherbornewindows.co.uk

In almost 30 years of running Sherborne these are unchartered & unprecedented times and the most important thing is to stay at home and protect our families and loved ones. This is going to be very tough for everyone but we must heed the advice given and avoid any unnecessary contact with people.

We are currently working out ways we can keep everyone updated and we will be using our website & social media to that effect.

We will get through this and by taking these steps I hope that in some small way Sherborne will help the return to some form of normality as quickly as possible.

Stay Safe & Best Wishes

Chris Long
